Crid's 1999 Grand Tour of Canada

3 weeks travelling by train from Toronto to Vancouver

Toronto - Winnipeg - Edmonton - Jasper - Kamloops - Vancouver

Day 20 (Thursday) - Vancouver (Penny Farthing Inn B&B)

My last full day in Canada.  I fly home tomorrow night.

Today was a bit more relaxed than yesterday, although I did a fair amount of walking.

I started by walking to the IMAX, which took about an hour.  For about half of that time I was being rained on.  After being lucky with the weather my luck finally ran out today.

Got to the IMAX at just before 11, only to find that the 11am performance only runs at weekends.

So I decided to go to the Aquarium and then visit the IMAX in the afternoon.  (By this time it had stopped raining).

I spent a couple of hours at the aquarium.  There was a fairly large queue outside (probably because people wanted to be indoors due to the rain).  The aquarium was a bit smaller than I had expected, although it was still very enjoyable.  There was a good area about rainforests there (suitably humid inside).  The Belugas were great to see - I've never seen them before.

I did a bit of walking around downtown before ending up back at the IMAX.  In the end I watched Extreme again, along with a 3D film called Into the Deep (underwater footage, naturally), and a film called Alaska.  All three were very good.

Got back to the B&B area around 8pm, so I headed straight for Milestones.  It was busier than previous nights (because I had previously been there around 5.30-6pm).  This time I was seated in the main part of the restaurant (instead of outside).  Very enjoyable.  I totally confused the waiter by asking a fairly innocuous question - "what is pesto?".

Had the chicken pesto fettacini.  Very nice.
