Crid's 1999 Grand Tour of Canada

3 weeks travelling by train from Toronto to Vancouver

Toronto - Winnipeg - Edmonton - Jasper - Kamloops - Vancouver

Day 22 (Saturday) - Home

Home at last.  That was not the most enjoyable flight of my life.  The seats near the front of the aircraft were far too crampled.  By the time we landed, at least two toilets were out of action, and the pilot had to abor the first landing attempt because of orders from Air Traffic Control.

The films were uninspiring.  Instinct and A Perfect Husband.  Not bad films, just not my cup of tea.

Trying to eat in such cramped conditions was interesting to say the least.  I had to try to get through two meals like that.

I don't ever want to fly Economy again!

After an age at baggage collection (for a long time it seemed as though the same dozen pieces of luggage were destined to go around on their own forever) I finally recovered my rucksack.  Straight through customs (there wasn't anybody there!) and found my dad, who drove me home.

So here I am at journey's end.  No sign of my housesitter, although it's obvious he's been looking after the place for me.

Now I have to unpack my things and wash all my dirty clothes.
