Who?...
My name is Steve Criddle.  I am 40 years old and live in Folkestone in England.  (That's down in the bottom right-hand corner).

I am currently working as a web programming developer. Previously, I worked in the PC Support department of a large holiday company, mostly in a telephone support role.

Not...
Crid, Crid, Crid, Crid or Crid.

Interests (in no particular order)

Reading Although I never buy a newspaper, I do read quite a lot of books.  Having said that, I don't read as much as I did before I found the internet.  No surprise there then.
Internet I've been online since early 1995, so I guess I'm getting to the point where I will start saying things like "the internet wasn't like that in my day...".  Here are some of the sites which caught my eye during that time.
Games Games are fun.  Although most of my game-playing is on the computer, I do also find time to play board games with a group of friends.
Computers Computers have been a part of my life since I was about 10, so it's not really surprising that I ended up working with computers.  Or using the internet, for that matter.
TV/Films I don't spend much time watching the small screen, or the big screen.  Often main-stream films and TV programmes just don't grab me.  When something does interest me, it's normally a documentary, science-fiction or comedy.  Spoof humour particularly appeals to me.  Perhaps that's to make up for my cynical nature.
Music There was a time a few years ago when I used to buy a lot of CDs.  These days an album has to be pretty special for me to make the effort.  I'm not sure if this is a sign I'm getting old, or a sign that my local music store is rubbish, or just a result of me having access to several MTV channels whenever I want them.
Cooking Some people seem to think that cooking is incredibly difficult.  Perhaps my background in computers means that I'm good at following instructions in a manual.  (After all, that's what a cookbook is).  Whatever the reason, I enjoy cooking almost as much as I enjoy eating the end result.
Canada I love Canada.  I have been there four times now, and I think it is a great country.  Probably the best holiday I've had so far was six holidays in one - I visited four cities, one national park, and travelled over 2500 miles by train.
Juggling A few years ago, a friend was given some juggling balls as a Christmas present (we never figured out why).  A few of us had a go at learning, and I was hooked.  I've subsequently learned to juggle four balls, and can also juggle clubs (which took a long time to learn, but was very rewarding).
Paranoia A roleplaying game with a difference.  While most RPGs encourage the players to work together, Paranoia does the opposite.  Players are encouraged to shoot, incriminate and generally pick on their colleagues.  Fortunately each player has six clones.  The chances of them all getting to the end of the mission with any clones left is fairly slim.  Enough said.
RoboRally A totally mad boardgame which involves directing a robot around a board filled with various dangers.  Sounds easy enough, except that you have to plan up to five moves in advance, and also have to dodge opposing players who can shoot at you and bump you off-course.  Fans of Paranoia will probably like Robo Rally.

Why "CRD-Sector"?
It's all because of a roleplaying game called Paranoia (mentioned above).  I've been running a Paranoia website for several years.  Not surprisingly, that area of my homepage gets visited a lot more than my personal area.  Since the Paranoia area was already called CRD Sector, I figured that I should move that part of the website to the front and move my personal area back here.

So why is the Paranoia area of my website called CRD Sector?  Well the world of Paranoia is a futuristic one where everybody lives in Alpha Complex.  Alpha Complex is divided up into sectors, each of which have a three-letter name.  And so, CRD Sector was born.
